Get the Facts Outreach Letter
Objective
The Get the Facts program educates students in grades 4-6 on the impacts and risks of using alcohol, cannabis, tobacco and vaping products.
It highlights the potentially harmful effects these substances can have on a young person’s brain development. This foundational information will help younger youth build a mindset centered around healthy choices and encourage lower risk behaviours later in life.
Get the Facts is a free educational and interactive virtual program presented by two trained facilitators who will engage students with activities, and live Q&A sessions.
The Get the Facts session is:
- For grades 4-6 (ages 9-12)
 - 45 -60 minutes in duration
 - Available in English and French
 - Suitable for classes of up to 50 students
 
Detailed instructions and resources will be provided to teachers upon booking.
Technical Details:
- Sessions will be hosted on your school’s preferred platform (e.g. Zoom, MS Teams, Webinar).
 - Ideally, classes have access to computers, tablets, or mobile phones for each participant.
 - Classrooms will need access to a digital screen/smartboard/projector to display the live moderator (including audio) to students.
