Objective
The Get the Facts program provides students in grades 4-6 with important information about the impacts and risks associated with using alcohol, cannabis, tobacco and vaping products. The program also provides strategies for handling peer pressure scenarios.
This free educational and interactive virtual program is presented by two trained facilitators who will engage students with activities and live Q&A sessions.

What is covered in the program?
Substance use can come with long and short-term risks to young people’s physical and mental health because their brains and bodies are still developing until around the age of 25.
- Alcohol, cannabis, tobacco, and vaping products can impact their ability to do the things they enjoy.
- These substances can also be addictive and lead to other mental health challenges over time.
- Learn different strategies for how to say no in the face of peer pressure.
